Update

Time for a little life update. With a journal-entry vibe.  If you follow me on social media (if you don’t, you should. @empwrwellness), you know I moved to Minnesota in August. I’m originally from Minnesota and always thought I would move “home” again someday. When an opportunity presented itself for me to teach in a …

Time for a Round Up!

There’s a lot of [positive] change going on in my life right now. In order to help my scattered brain, every day involves what feels like a never-ending to do list. But in the calm moments between all the craziness, I’ve been extra grateful towards everything that has led me to where I am right …

Four Stretches To Do While Watching Netflix

Let’s face it, a lot of us watch more television than we should (notice how I said “us”- I’m included in this!). Sure, we could sit on the couch, eat ice cream, binge-watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and proceed to zone out. But I am the only one that stands up from the couch and immediately notices …

How Do I Spend My Rest Days?

Sleep I love sleep! I usually find myself going to bed around 9:30-10:00 at night, and waking up between 5:30-6:00 in the morning. This gives me a solid eight hours of sleep. Everyone is different, but this is what I’ve found works for my body.  The amount of sleep you need may be different than …

Limbs of Yoga

Before I took the initiative to actually learn about yoga, I thought it was all about handstands, downward dog, and laying on your mat trying not to fall asleep (i.e. shavasana). The first several times I attempted yoga I hated it! It wasn’t until I started reading about the foundations of yoga and the limbs …

My 5 Biggest Takeaways from Yoga

In honor of International Yoga Day being earlier this week (on June 21, 2021), I thought it was appropriate for me to take a minute to share my five biggest takeaways from consistent yoga practice.  You’re going to have “good days” and “bad days”. Some days I feel bendy, and other days I feel as …

True story: When I first started doing yoga I couldn’t touch my toes. Not even close. On average, I’d be able to reach the tops of my …
